Presented by: Jane Fleishman, PhD, MEd, MS, CSE & Stephen Duclos, LMFT, CST-S
Given the anxiety-producing context of living in a pandemic world, the social and political impacts which hamper sexual development, and the enormous pressures against frank and honest reflections of sexuality as we age, this training will offer participants a unique perspective to apply current research and resources to their clinical and administrative practice with older adults. Positive psychology and narrative theoretical frameworks may hold the key to our clinical work. The focus of this highly-engaging Skills Training workshop is on improving participants’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes regarding the questions: why all sex is queer sex, especially for older adults; the social and political frameworks which dampen sexual development; the sexual challenges of older adults; and the possibilities for joy in older clients’ sexual lives. Participants will benefit from the knowledge, skills, and abilities of an educator and a therapist both focusing on older adults and their sexuality in an increasingly complex and technologically accelerating world.
Join us via Zoom to view this training. Participants must register for class by 5pm the day before. In order to receive CEUs, you must complete the evaluation form that will be sent to you.
