In this training, participants will consider the evolving role of men and the ways in which masculinity is constructed in our current social and political landscape. Lessons learned from group therapy with men will be discussed. Although we will be talking specifically about men, the perspective offered in this training aligns with the position that All Sex is Queer Sex, and will also consider the contexts of racism, ableism, ageism, transphobia and homophobia, misogyny, class, and inequality. Men’s asexuality will also be discussed. Each 90 minute module will include Case Studies, Information Sharing, and Instructor Perspectives.

9:00 AM - 10:30 AM: Men’s Sexual Development Through the Lifespan: Young Men to Old Men.
10:30 AM - 10:45 AM: 15 minute break
10:45 AM - 12:15 PM: Misogyny and Sexual Identity Post-Covid
12:15 PM - 12:45 PM: Lunch break
12:45 PM - 2:15 PM: Men’s Groups in Therapeutic Contexts
2:15 PM - 2:30 PM: 15 minute break
2:30 PM - 4:00 PM: Loneliness, Anxiety, and the Search for Freedom and Peace
This 6 CE credit course meets the criteria for the following Sex Therapy Training Content Areas:
2 CE credits in Criteria Letter A (Theory and methods of sex-related psychotherapy, including several different models)
2 CE credits in Criteria Letter C (Theory and methods of approach to intervention in relationship systems experiencing sex and intimacy problems)
2 CE credits in Criteria Letter F (Ethical decision-making and best practice)
This program meets the requirements for the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 6 total CE credits.
