COVID-19 and Your Wellbeing
Therapy involves multiple people, and therapists here see families, couples, and individuals all throughout the day and evening. The health and wellbeing of our clients and therapists are our top priorities here at South Shore Family Health Collaborative & South Shore Sexual Health Center. It is necessary more than ever to take community-based measures to mitigate risk, while adhering to national government and local health official guidance. For this reason, we have decided to move to remote sessions via secure video conferencing until further notice.
Utilizing HIPAA-compliant telehealth technology allows our therapists the best chance to continue to provide ongoing services without interruption. Therapists will provide clients with simple instructions to download Zoom software on their computer or mobile device; clients are not required to sign up for a Zoom account to participate. We wish you and your loved ones well and hope to resume in-person sessions as soon as possible.
Be safe, be calm, be informed.
- SSFHC & SSSHC Team
What is South Shore Sexual Health Center?
SSSHC is a team of certified sex therapists, committed to providing the people we serve with up-to-date, research-based sex and relationship counseling and education. We see individuals, couples, and polyamorous or non-monogamous relationships, of all sexual and gender identities, lifestyles, and orientations, as well as providing group therapy, and trainings for students seeking sex therapy certification.
Our Values
We believe compassion is the antidote to shame. In a society where sex is shrouded in secrecy and fear, we strive to bring our clients to a place of warm acceptance and freedom in relation to their sexuality. Compassion, and learning how to be compassionate toward one’s self, paves the way toward this end…or beginning.
We trust our clients to appreciate truth, as challenging as it can be. We honor this by “holding up the mirror” in therapy and showing our clients the honesty they deserve. We cannot expect this of our clients if we do not practice it in a direct way ourselves.
Our doors are open to people of all ages, races, sexual orientations, gender identities, physical abilities, relationship styles, lifestyles, sexual preferences, cultural backgrounds, and belief systems. We take pride in the diversity of our clientele. Everyone is entitled to a sex-positive life.
As therapists, we strive to maintain an open perspective and approach to the work that we do. Adopting an open attitude of non-judgement expands the lens and allows for treatment that is truly as unique as each person, relationship, or family we encounter.
Each person is the expert on themselves and their relationships. Curiosity is our greatest ally in tapping into that expertise in order to bring our knowledge and training into the work in a way that is most helpful. No assumptions allowed.
